The Story Behind The Love Like Ashley Project
Ashley Lauren was more than a daughter, sister, and friend—she was a brilliant, compassionate soul who lived with purpose and heart. An aspiring surgeon with top grades and big dreams, she balanced academic ambition with creativity and joy. She played the cello with grace, danced ballet with poise, and fearlessly skated through life with strength and spirit. Her love for sea turtles reflected her gentle nature, and her deep loyalty to her family—especially her brothers—was unmatched. Ashley never hesitated to hug her mom in public or spend a Saturday night laughing at home. She was full of wonder and wisdom, often reminding others to slow down, to feel deeply, and to love loudly.
On a heartbreaking day, Ashley’s life was cut short by a hit-and-run driver while she was riding her skateboard. In the painful wake of her loss, those who loved her most chose to carry her spirit forward—not with silence, but with action. Thus, The Love Like Ashley Project was born.
This foundation exists to reflect the way Ashley lived: with creativity, courage, and compassion. We advocate for road safety, support young artists and musicians through the Ashley Lauren Art & Music Fund, and uplift families affected by loss. Every initiative, every act of kindness, every note of music shared—it all keeps Ashley’s light shining in the world.

At The Love Like Ashley Project, our mission is to transform heartbreak into hope by honoring the radiant life of Ashley Lauren. Through road safety advocacy, creating a safe place for skateboarders, and creative scholarships for young artists and musicians, we strive to uplift the dreams Ashley left behind. With every project and every person we serve, we aim to reflect her deep compassion, fearless spirit, and unwavering love. Our mission is simple but powerful: to carry Ashley’s light forward by inspiring others to live, give, and love like she did—boldly, tenderly, and with heart.
